Copy and Learn

Pick a page from a book or story with lots of dialogue (people talking indicated by quotation marks). Pay close attention to punctuation and paragraphing and copy everything you see. With enough practice, you’ll punctuate dialogue correctly, without even having to think about it. Since this activity doesn’t involve writing, please don’t post it for review.

Feelings

Write a conversation between you and a made-up character. Decide how you feel about this character before you start. Show your feelings through what you say, how you act and how you respond. Show the other character’s feelings about you.
